About Betty Laur

Betty at work painting

Betty’s paintings represent a feeling of overall well-being and serenity, capturing a wide range of nature, inspired by the tropical landscape of South Florida.

From being selected by the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, Florida for a 5-month exhibit at the Johnson History Museum in West Palm Beach depicting the 1928 hurricane’s 8-foot high wave that devastated Lake Okeechobee and the West Palm Beach area, to her designation as Master Class Plus Artist by American Juried Art Salon.com after being juried into two of their international competitions, Betty has become known for her tropical oil paintings.

Betty is committed to continually learn and develop her talent, and has found that the best way to improve is through constant practice and trying new techniques and materials. Betty was born in Jefferson County, Illinois, and currently resides in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
